Check your Login items for a Microsoft Deamon that gets put there every time their trial Office X is launched.

I have actual trouble sleeping, but I think maybe Microsoft has something to do with that as well.

Me too. I can never get to sleep if there's any outside noise or light coming into my room. It's quite annoying to be honest.

Yah, after moving to the city I had quite a bit of trouble sleeping. It never gets dark or quiet here.
Ahh, the country...

My PowerMac does have trouble sleeping (actually it's not trouble sleeping but trouble waking up) yet I don't have that Microsoft Daemon among my login items.

Then you may also want to re-install the 10.2.4 combo update over an existing x24 if you have not already done so. I've read that doing this solves a great many problems. Understandably tough to do unless you have high speed access, however.

Re-installing 10.2 won't help at all because I did that recently after adding another 40GB drive to my configuration and decided to go software RAID 0

I have these sleeping problems since 10.2, never had any issues with 10.0 or 10.1. I think it's my GeForce2 MX video card because after I replaced it with the stock ATI Rage128 everything was working just fine.
