I have an old PowerMac G3 Desktop (266) with OS 9.2.2; 544MB of Ram; 6 MB video memory. Will I be able to power a large monitor ? 19" ? 21" ? I haven't a clue about the system requirments to run these larger monitors. I am looking for sugestions to make this happen. Thanks for your help in advance

I believe that the memory card needs to be at least 16/32, to run the apple cinema displays currently out.

I had a 266 Power Mac (beige desktop) with a 19" monitor. It is still running very well at my sister's house. I think I had 256 Mg of RAM in it. I never had problems with it, but I had to use some sort of adapter to hook up the monitor cable. Figuring out what the settings were supposed to be on the little switches on the adapter was the worst thing about it, as I recall.
The monitor was older than the Mac and I bought the Mac in 1998. I hope this helps.

Perfect That is exactly what I want to do. I just bought a 19" monitor (closed on eBay about 20 minutes ago); I have the adapter & the correct pinouts. I should be set. Thanks for the input.

I think the possible problem with large monitors is with the high resolutions they provide. My 21" CRT can handle 2048x1536, but not all computers can handle that high a resolution.
