Why would you use a Cinema Display over a VGA connection? It'd be such a waste...

Basically, apply the hack, plug in the adaptors*, and plug the screen into the adaptor.

*You'll need a mini VGA -> full VGA adaptor, then a VGA -> ADC (or a VGA -> DVI and a DVI -> ADC) adaptor.

Umm...maybe I don't understand you? Why would I use a cinema display over a vga display?? Am I missing something here?

I think he's saying that you won't get full quality out of a cinema display if you use a VGA port. They are meant for a digital signal (VGA is analogue) like DVI or Apple's ADC.
