Hmmm dunno what happened to my post...think the server hiccupped or something...

I am considering purchasing a 17" iMac this weekend (upgrading from dual 500 G4). I also have a PC I use to play games. I want to know if I put the audio output of the PC into the iMac's audio input, will it pass the sound through to the speakers? I would like it to do this to keep desk clutter to minimum only having one set of speakers. I can't get it to work on my Dual 500 G4, so I am hoping something has changed and the audio inputs now pass sound to the speakers instead of just being used for recording.

Thanks!

if you open up a recording program, and click record then pause, you should be able to hear the audio pass through without recording anything. you can then minimise the program and carry on with whatever else you're doing.

kind of a stop-gap solution, but it works!
