That's a special pin connector for the Pro Speakers on the iMac. Does anyone know if there's an adaptor that I can get that will go from that port to a mixer or stereo amplifier? It could be either RCA or stereo pin or jack at the other end.

Has anyone used this port instead of the headphone port to route music to other speakers?

The pro speaker port is propietary. AFIK, there are no adapters. As far as connecting your iMac to your stereo, here you go!
