I just bought a new 17" iMac 1GHZ running 10.2. Ever since I hooked it up, the modem keeps disconnecting. It either gives me the message that the other end is not responding or the modem had unexpetantly hung up. I also have an iMac 400 DV that I have had plugged into the same phone jack for the last two years and have had no problems. Can anyone give me any advise on this problem?

there's a lot of discussion about the modems in FP iMacs not working right on Macintouch

http://www.macintouch.com

do a search for "modem" and find the most recent (unless its still one of the headlines, haven't checked in a while)
