Using Sherlock.

ATI seems to have taken measurements so that we cannot any more
flasher of cards PC as us Ali tells it.

Afflicted all the power color radeon 9100 PC sold at surcouf and
street montgallet are not flashables for mac, the firmware is locked
like all the new cards from power color besides. If it there is the
letter L, some share present in the réference of the card, that
please say that the firmware is Locked and thus blocked, all flashage
is thus impossible. This, even if they resemble like two drops of
water old the radeon 8500 64mo. I have just returned of them two, one
at surcouf and another street montgallet.

Moreover one qualified salesman that dorrénavant all the cards
powered by ATI all models, and it does not matter the mark and the
origin of the assembly, are from now on all firmware locked (blocked
firmware) and thus sold not flashables with manufacture, it said to me
is ATI which provided the chips which want it thus.

The open firmware and not blocked from now on is reserved only for
true cards ATI, built and assembled by ATI, and recognizable with
their logo "Built by ATI" present on limp red of the cards of
manufacturer ATI.

Damage and thank you ATI.

apparently all 3rd party cards [Powered by ATI] (cheap assed) aren't flashable anymore
[Built by ATI] stay flashable though.

That's good to know. If they were to prevent flashing on all cards, could they not price the Mac Edition of their cards at the same price as the PC version?

Unfortunately no. The costs of driver developement aren't divided between as many customers. Each Mac card purchaser must pay a greater percentage of the total cost of writing their platform's drivers and firmware.
