Greetings,

I have tried all I can and am now seeking help in getting this beige Powermac G3 to boot.

I removed all the PCI cards I could. There is only the default stick of RAM in it. I made sure all the connections were tight.

Still get the damn crack sound (unless I remove the sound card), but still no display

Please help me before I get a bigger headache from this thing.

Is the "crack" sound sort of like a glass breaking sound? I think that meant there was a problem with the RAM; do you have any other RAM sticks you can test?

I agree a crack or crunch sound denotes a problem with RAM. You say there is only one default (Apple OEM?) RAM chip in it, I would suspect that it is bad. Swap it if possible with another and see if the sound and problem persists.
