OK I'm goona try to explain my problem without confusing people. I have a 9500. It has an 80 MB drive with OS 9 on it, and a 2 GB drive with OS X on it. All was well for a while, I run X on it all the time and everyone was happy. (=me). Meanwhile, I decided to try the Hard Drive window mod on another drive, where you take the cover off a HD, cut a big hole in it, glue some plexi glass over the hole, and put the drive back together. I finished that mod but I couldn't get the drive to mount in the chosen computer to show off the mod. So I decided to give it a shot in my 9500 to see if I could get it up and formatted on there. I removed the 2 GB drive with X on it and tried to fire it up. I couldn't get it mounted, so I gave up and put the 2 GB drive back in. The 2 GB drive now won't mount either, nor will it even show up in Drive Setup or Mt Everything. Its like its not even really plugged into the computer... I hit the CUDA, zapped the PRAM, you name it. The 2 GB is not an apple drive. Which could explain the problem, except it was already working FINE for weeks running X before this, so somthing has to be up. I know I didn't damadge the drive while I was swapping it, all I did was take it out and gently place it on another computer for a little while, then I tossed it back in the 9500. I can't figure this out, but does anyone know a way I might be able to get the 2 GB drive to be seen?

9500 = SCSI, yes?

Check termination, check SCSI ID's? Put it in the position of the OS9 drive, and see if it works...

Did all that already. Everything is right. And everything is as it was before when it worked :-(

Are you trying to do this in OS 9? If so, was the drive you're trying to mount formatted to include OS 9 drivers? I formatted a drive without OS 9 drivers and it made it so I couldn't see it when booted to another drive in OS 9. Hope this helps.

Yes in 9, and yes it has 9 drivers. I also tried this once with an X drive that didn't had 9 drivers. It wouldn't mount, but the drive was there, you could still see it in any hardware utilities, like Drive Setup, but my drive doesn't come up at all in any of them..

Any strange noises from the drive (clicking, etc.)? Plug it into another computer and see if it works.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
