Check out the Apple Store education page. You can get the bare bones emac with a CD-Rom for 699 and 799 for the CD R/W drive. The original iMac is $649. A full DVD buring eMac is only $1099.

For a education lab, those are not bad prices at all. In bulk I bet I could get some eMacs for $599.
Yes, I know I could buy a PC, but why?

Those are good prices, but unfortunately I am no longer a student.

Thanks for pointing this out. I am not a student but a friend of mine is. Thanks to her, I am getting a eMac for $779.00 (CD-RW, no modem). That works out great for me, as I do not need DVD playback and I use a cable modem.

Thanks again.

Damn you Apple, it's still 1160 Euro in Germany, that's around US $1100
