I remember a while back some people saying they actually got the iSub to work with a tray loading iMac....Is this true?

I think that you can use iSub with any Mac if you're running Mac OS X, but I'm not sure.

I remember there were issues with the initial release of OSX and the iSub, however, I think that was all fixed with version 10.1 +

Ok people talk to me about the iSub. Is it good, where's the best place to buy one (I'm in AU but will order from OS if necessary or cheaper). What issues exist (if any)? Is there any difference between older an newer ones? I would be using it with a 1Ghz iMac and OS 10.2.5.

TIA,
Wesley

Right now, Maczone has it for $39 (US). That is a good price. That isub is great under 10.2.x. The only negative is that it does not mute with the mute button and sometimes, does not wake from sleep (after a deep sleep). All this requires is that the iSub be unplugged (USB) and replugged in. Other than that, it sounds amazing compated to just the Apple Pro Speakers. This is on a iMAc 800 with Superdrive.
Yes, I know I could buy a PC, but why?

Hmm nice price (they're refurbs if you were wondering). I've e-mailed them asking about the prospect of me buying one - me being in AU and all.

Strange ... how would the sound be distributed between the puny iBook speaker and the iSub, I wonder ? Now, with some of the larger, dual speakered powerbooks, I could see it sounding halfway decent. Hmmmmm....
