iMac (G3 233 Mhz, 96mb, OS 9.2.2.)

problem: I changed the screen rez from 1024x768 to 640x480 and the screen went BLANK.

The only way the screen shows up at all is when I start with extensions OFF.

I can't startup with a CD, and I tried turning off all extensions that have to do with Monitor and Video Card. Also: trashed Display prefs, trashed most other prefs, zapped PRAM.

The machine starts up, then when it hits a certain extension, the screen just goes blank.

So does anybody know what extension is doing this?

At what extension does it stop? What does it look like, or which in the order (and of how many) is it? The extensions load in alphabetical order, so you should be able to narrow it down by that. Have you tried doing a re-install of the system, and/or trashing the monitor prefs file?
