Finally! Sonnet is going to announce ZIF upgrades for BWs! Today they announced them for beige G3s, for around $700 - yikes!

But at least I congratulate them for overcoming the hurtles with BWs and G4s. Way to go!

Now if it only overclocks to 1.2GHZ!

I just ordered a Powerlogix G3 800.

For less than half the price of the G4 1Ghz though, it was all I was willing to spend on my 4 year old B&W.

Wow..I was just _about_ to order a G3 800Mhz.. I'll wait a bit I think..

Although..an extra $400 for just 200 more Mhz and Altivec?

Great news. I love my B/W but it's a tad slow. Thanks for the information!

i know this is off topic, but for those of you with the B&W G3s, can you install OS X.2.x on a drive that is not partitioned to have the OS on the first 8GB? i just got a B&W G3 350 server and wanted to swap out the old drive and put a 60GB drive that already has 10.2.5 installed on it. thanks.

Two things:

I got my G3 800 and it installed in 5 mins and works great! It's a very nice upgrade for the price.

The "1st 8GB" rule only applies to Beige G3s.
