Is there an OSX diagnostic software to check
RAM? Not just is it recognised but speed and
benchmark performance?

If i'm not mistaken xbench does memory benchmarks. There are other pieces of software that can determine if your ram is healthy or not, but in terms of benchmarking your best bet is probably xbench.
There is no emoticon for what I am feeling!

My system specs:

2 furry caches
17" diaganol quad pumped weener
198 lb ham
44x36x57 CWR
overpriced, underperforming, but sleek nonetheless.

I also have a G4.

Xbench is pretty cool. It seems my Mac is a little faster than average, though I only ran the
the memory test which may have affected results. I wish there was a document whixh could walk me through Apple Hardware Test.
What I'm trying to do is confirm my new memory is performing to spec. In Xbench under memory-system -copy, I get a number which is lower than all the rest. it seems other
machines show this pattern but some have strikingly higher numbers in this category. I'm going to investigate and try to understand what I'm looking at.
