I have a 3 months old iMac 1Ghz 17".
I turned it and the monitor would not turn on!
I used the diagnostic disk that comes with the compuuter and it did find a error:

Video RAM ***Error Code***
2NvD/1/4 0x6

Has anyone here seen this? Any suggestion other than take it to the University Micro Store and see if they are going to fix it?

Do you think Apple care will cover this?

Thanks a lot

If it's three months old, and you bought it new, Apple will fix it; they come with a one year warranty.
Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

Yep, she sounds dead. Fortunately, AppleCare will *certainly* cover it. Either take it to a nearby Apple Store or give AppleCare a call, tell them your situation, and you should be given an RMA to return the machine & you should either have it repaired or replaced & returned to you within a week or so. Best of luck!
