I get this error at startup:
/pci/Apple53C875card@d/A0,0:5 /pci/Apple53C875card@d/A0,0:5 /pci/Apple53C875card@d/A0,0:5 /pci/Apple53C875card@d/A0,0:5 /pci/Apple53C875card@d/A0,0:5 /pci/Apple53C875card@d/A0,0:5 /pci/Apple53C875card@d/A0,0:5 /pci/Apple53C875card@d/A0,0:5 /pci/Apple53C875card@d/A0,0:5 /pci/Apple53C875card@d/A0,0:5
This first happened when I installed 10.2 on a beige Macintosh Server G3. Any ideas what it means? I already tried
set-defaults
reset-all
but had no success.

Have you tried removing all the PCI cards?

The number "53C875" is also the number for a popular chip used in SCSI cards. Do you have one? I would bet that you do, and that either the card has gone bad or there are problems on the SCSI chain. OS X is much fussier about proper termination and IDs than OS 9 was.
If you can, try removing SCSI devices (especially scanners) and seeing if that fixes things.

yes, i do have a SCSI card in there. in fact, it was the culprit and i gave up on the machine. i was trying to fix it up and i realized that there were many more issues with it. i overclocked a 233 desktop and maxed out the RAM. thank you guys for your input and i also wanted to say that these are the BEST and most helpful Mac forums around!

Hi,
If you've got this card, which I do, just UPDATE THE FIRMWARE for the card!!! It will work perfectly with OS X, I had two Atlas 10k drives that came standard with the G3 Server attached to it. I expected to have to do this, but I tried to install OS X on it anyway, without updating the firmware. Well, the first reboot after the CD install step came up with this error. Updating the firmware in OS 9 made the problem go away like magic.

Thanks for the reply. Is the card you have made by Apple? The one I took out is made by ATTO.
