Ok... I have a dual 1ghz MDD g4... im looking on ramseeker, but there are several types of ram for the G4s...I looked in the Profiler, but it just lists DDR SDRAM... do I get 2100 or 2700 ?

All as artificial as the Matrix itself, although only a human mind could invent something as insipid as Love.

The dual 1ghz MDD g4 uses PC2700 DDR SDRAM. That's ram running at 333 mhz.
The 2100 type is that which the old DP 867 MDD g4 and the current single processor 1ghz G4 uses.
That's that. There is also the issue of the brand and the quality of the RAM... but this answers your question for now.

And as a side note, people seem to have a good amount of luck with Crucial memory ( www.crucial.com).
I've bought from them many times over the years and have had nothing but great service and quality from them. You can also select which Macintosh you have and it will give you the recommended RAM for your model.
Good luck

Same here, Crucial is great. May not be the cheapest all the time, but they're usually pretty close (and they have free 2 day shipping).

I think a clarification is in order. Crucial is a
division of "Micron". As I understand it, Micron
designs the the modules. Micron also has different suppliers of its designed modules.
Crucial distributes the memory modules from the different suppliers. Crucial does not advertise different suppliers of modules. They
advertise Crucial. My suspect memory module
was Samsung. It's replacement, by Crucial was a Micron module. When I originally tried to install the Samsung module, it fit very tight and it was problematic getting the ram clips
to snap properly. The Micron replacement while requiring a firm pressing snapped right in. Cruical is a supplier of different manufactures of modules. Crucial ram could be Samsung or Micron. I would specify Micron
ram in the future.
