Hi, I don't know if anybody has the same problem after using the iMac g3500 slot loading version for about two years and it start giving problem like the restart of the machine and power will cut off and you will need to plug out the power supply cable and plug it in againt just to power up the computer.

And even if I don't restart, instead of shut down and turn it on again, the light of the power button will try to light up for 1 2 second and loss it power immediately after that.

Does anybody had such problem?
I want to know if this is a common problem?

I send it to a shop once which was under warranty at that time for almost 2 weeks they brought back the machine with the same old problem. I don't know it apple will be able to solve the problem?

sounds like the problem I had with the analog video board, which coincidentally has the power supply board integrated into it.
If this post is in the Lounge forum, it is likely to be my own opinion, and not representative of the position of MacNN.com.

Wondering if you had noticed hissing sound from speakers while machine was turned off but power still connected. If so, the analog board is definitely verlumpt. Ironically a similar fault to the (newer) eMac problem where Apple's Taiwanese sub-contractor was supplied with a dodgy batch of capacitors that fail over time!!!
