hi, do not know if it has been covered, sorry in that case...

both www.penguinppc.org and www.ppcnerds.org have news about newer powermacs: the builtin usb controller is an usb2 controller, it is put in usb1 mode by openfirmware.
linux kernel hackers are working to get it working in usb2 mode too.
