My 466 tower sounds like the power supply fan is fluctuating in volume / speed. Could the fan be the problem or the power supply? It just started recently but the computer has been turned on for roughly a year straight with only the odd day or two of downtime. There are 3 HDs in the tower (2 IDE, 1 SCSI) yet the fan didn't act up when I had 4 (2 IDE, 2 SCSI).

Ideas?
Thx.

If it is fluctuating over longer periods of time (kicks up for 10 minutes, then settles down for a long while) then you are just seeing the wonders of variable seed fans in action. If the fan is reving (cyling multimple times a minute), then you proabbly have a fan at the end of it's life. A littel DW-40 might just give you a few more months.
