I currently own a G4 tower 533 system with a 17" Apple Studio Display (the good ol' CRT version). The sucker runs OS X very well and has 640mb RAM in (which of course helps!). I haven't upgraded it at all and don't really plan on it...
I'm completely in love with the 17" widescreen iMacs. After playing around with one at the Apple Store a few times, I've grown to really like the "hanging frame" effect - it just feels so cool when you're working on it with that screen hanging there - totally cool.
So, I'm wondering how people feel about the value of the $1799 model of the iMac. Is it a good buy?? Is it worth selling the 533 system and replacing it with an iMac?

Give it another 1-2 years in my opinion; your system still stands well.
If video performance is an issue you can always purchase a new video card....
Yeah hang on to it for a couple of years more, and it seems that you've been quite happy w/ your G4 so, if you don't like upgrade restrictions I would wait and buy a G5 tower
