Hey all... bit of a dilemma... I have an electronic organ here which I want to hook up to one of my systems.

Now, I can't hook it up to the G4 because the mic port on that is plaintalk (pain in the ass).

The mic port on the 7350 and 5500's, however, is simple standard stereo minijack - yet I get no signal from an old Apple (non-plaintalk) mic, nor from the organ?

The organ is connected by a minijack (from the bigger jack things to a minijack via one of the standard adapters), with two headphone cables spliced together so it becomes male-male, then into the system. Not a great way to do it, but hey, if it works, THEN I'd get a real cable.

Any ideas why this isn't working? TIA...

i'd test that cable with some other electronics or plug some headphones into the organ to make sure that everything's as it should be.

Yeah, I can't unfortunately.

I have two old Apple mics that fit in the port properly, but don't work; nor do they work in the 5500's, so I assume that isn't the problem.

*sigh*

I'll have to find some hardware or specifications somewhere for the port.
