Hi folks,
I have a 500mhz, 20gb G3 iMac with a CDRW that burns a maximum of 668mb of data. Is there any way you can burn files of 700mb by changing settings, most of the files that I want to burn are 700mb.

Or is there something like toast that could do it? I've heard of toast but I don't know excactly what it can do. Maybe I have to buy another CDRW, if that's the case any thoughts on the best out there.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

The limitation is with Apple's Disc Burner program. Toast is a third party program that lets you do a lot more with your burner. You'll be able to write 700 MB CD-Rs with Toast. You can also make VCDs (video CDs), PC CDs, etc.

ThanX Brad, for your reply and the info. Looks like it's Toast for me then.
I'm glad there was a simple enough solution rather than having to get another CDRW.

All the best - By The Way.

No problem. Although I just noticed you had CD-RW in the subject. I haven't seen any 700 MB CD-Rs, but it's quite possible they exist. All of the CD-RWs I've come across are 650 MB, although I haven't bought any in a few months. You shouldn't have any problem with writing 700 MB to a CD-R though.

Hi Brad,
I should have mentioned in my original post that it was CD-R that I wanted to burn.

Anyway I have been using Toast for a couple of days now and it is working just fine. I might get some jam for my toast. LoL.

All the best - By The Way.
