Ok, I'm not very technically adept with the hardware side of computers, but I wanted to throw this out there and see if what I want to do is possible (and somewhat safe). Basically, my parents have an old Blueberry iMac G3 350. As you may know, this model didn't include a Firewire port. My mom recently bought an iPod which she uses with her laptop, but she'd like to use it with the iMac 350. So here's the thing. I have a iMac DV 400 that's just sitting in my basement because the logic board is fried. But the rest of the parts are still good. Would it be possible for me to replace the "board" (the USB/Firewire portion) of my parent's iMac 350 with the one from my iMac DV? If anyone has any answers (or links to places where I could get answers) it would be really helpful. Thanks.

Since switching these parts is essentially switching the iMac motherboard, you are better off switching the computers.

If you need your software on your machine and hers on hers, then swap the hard drives and take their 350mhz.

The firewire port is integrated into the motherboard, so switching hard drives and trading machines is the best answer here.
