After scanning through the forums, I found several posts on this subject, but nothing referring specifically to the problem I'm having.

I'm using an iMac DV SE and want to connect a CRT monitor, which I know can only mirror the display on the iMac. After connecting, the CRT displayed the mirror image fine, but after about 15min, the displya went dark-green, with me barely able to make out what's on the screen. The display on the iMac remained fine, so I'm wondering if I have a problem with the CRT. The thing is, I have tried this a couple of times with the same result. Works fine for about 15 min, and then tanks. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong here.

Does anyone have any experience video mirroring on an iMac? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried this monitor on a different computer? Have you tried a different monitor on the iMac?

Hi,

For last three years I have used 19" Dell monitor and recently 22" Optima CRT and both worked fine just by plugging in. I kept them ON all the time and they only fell asleep when iMac did. As for color temp. I still like original iMac's 15" tube better, but for Premiere timeline it is too small. I kept resolution at maximum allowed by original iMac setup.

Thank you for your help.

The monitor I was attempting to use was also a Dell (17"). It was not being used for about 6 months and was shipped across the country. I will try it with another computer to see if it's working ok.

Thanks again,
G
