Looking to upgrade my drive, by getting atleast an 80giger... any one have one they like?

looking at Western Digital 120GB WD1200JBRTL UATA100 8MB. outpost has them for 169.00 but offers a 80 rebate... which makes it very tempting.

ive got a maxtor now, works nice, but still looking for other options. has to be ata and 7200 rpm. anyone whos seen a deal on a segate, let me know please.

Seems to me that as prices come tumbling down, so does reliability. IBM are now saying no more than 8 hours per day for their HD's and other forums are reporting some users coming to terms with HD lives of 2 years max. What is going on? This was never an issue in the good old days of SCSI. Why are IDE drives starting to max out? I blame the 'PC' effect - P*ss Cheap, which unfortunately equals P*ss Poor.

i am happy with my two seagates, (80 and 120 w/ 8mb cache) dead silent fast. but a little more pricey.
