I have a rev. D, 333mhz iMac that is four years old. It has sat for the last 7mo since I got my new 17" iMac. Just got the old iMac out and networked it and the new one along with AEBS. Is working nicely. Son has use of the older one. He went to play a CD and there was a lot of skipping. Played it on the new maching and all was fine. Can a person clean the CD player with the cleaning kit bought for use with car/truck in dash CDs?

I have a cleaning CD that has little bristles that clean the drive. I've used it with my iMac DV a few times with no trouble.
