I found the firmware update, but and downloaded it says <"this version of the iMac Firmware updater is for use with specific imac models and will not work with this computer">
I'm using FWUpdate 4.1.9 found on the Apple Website.


I have a 333 mhz lime green imac which shipped with 96 mgs of ram ( I put in a 256 ram chip).

I had installed system 9 from my old g4 as the imac was purchased off ebay and didn't have any disks with it am doing a new clean install.

My goal is to get to Jaguar..I understand you have to install 9 first..then do the firmware update..then do the Jaguar. is this correct?



I notice that when I put it in sleep mode a fan still runs..is there a way to put it into sleep mode that shuts off all the fans?

I was having trouble because I was trying to install the SLOT LOADING imac update..which of course now I know does not work on my 333 ghz TRAY loading imac.

Installing 9.2 as I type this..then Jaguar.
