Sorry if this sound wierd but I have a Powerbook (pismo) with a 500 mhz G3. I also have a B/W Powermac 350mhz.

the powerbook is on it's last legs, falling apart, drives don't work, etc...is it possible to switch the G3s?

Thanks

No, they are completely incompatible.

You can always sell the PowerBook for parts (or sell the parts individually, which will probably fetch more $).

isn't it because the PM use processors on Zif cards where the PB uses the processor driectly attached to the Mobo, or on a different kinda connection type?

I don't know, but I would assume the processor is soldered onto the mobo in the laptop.

Actually G4ME and jcadam, the processor in a Pismo isn't directly attached to the motherboard, it's on a daughtercard (processor card), but I'm sure it's a different daughtercard then on a PowerMac. On a Pismo you have to remove the processor card to access the lower RAM slot.

The RAM slots are actually on the CPU daughtercard. You have to remove the daughtercard to access the bottom RAM slot because you actually have to flip it over to get at the slot.

Obviously, these cards are completely incompatible with those of a desktop.
