I've turned a few of my buddies in to mac users so I guess in return I am their official mac tech support. This one has me stumped. An iMac 600 "Graphite" slot load CRT running Jaguar. Has been chugging along fine until now it has a dim monitor while running OS X. Boot up in to OS 9 and all is well. Booted in to single user mode and even that was dim. I've seen some of other posts here and there (zap pram, firmware updates, all the usual things to try first)but no luck. Short of reinstalling Jaguar was wondering if anyone had any input.

Adjust the color calibration profile under "Displays --> Color Tab --> calibrate" in the System preferences. Maybe he can turn up the brightness there and set up and OSX monitor profile he likes.
