Well, the deed is done. I have ordered a 2Ghz G5 (CTO with Bluetooth module...).

I ordered through an 'Applecentre' here in the UK who didn;t want a deposit, and have been quoted a delivery time of the 1st or 2nd week in September!!

I was told that if I wanted a Single G5, they would be shipping in the 1st or 2nd week of August :/

Anyone else had any delivery dates yet?

I placed my order through the Apple Store Sweden, the rep I talked to said they expect to start shipping them in the 2nd week of August. She also said this time Apple expects to start delivering them across Europe around the same time.

Mine is Dual 2GHz with 250 GB HD, Bluetooth and Airport as extras...

I ordered one, via the phone since the website was so slow after the keynote. She said something about they wont start shipping till August at the earliest (or something to that effect). She also kept saying Dual 1.8Ghz (so you want the duel 1.8GHz, I hope you enjoy your new duel 1.8GHz, etc). Probably just a slip up, but who knows...

Checking online shows that my shipping has been upgrade to Priority Overnight (for free!!), and a delivery date of "on or before 9/02/2003. Looks like just a standard date they are listing for everyone.

If you check out the Apple Store you will see the PowerMac G5 is already #3 on the best sellers list, right behind iSight and iPod.

You either have too much money for your own good, or the lack of patience to make you spend it. Or both.

But at any rate, CONGRATS!

I currently have a Dual 867 MDD system and am upgrading to a 1.8GHz G5. It's just a much better system overall. My G4 dual box isn't even a year old, but I think a 1.8GHz G5 with a bus that effectively runs at about 3 times the speed (as far as memory to the controller goes)

I haven't gotten a delivery date yet. That might be a good thing though, as I need to wait for the rest of the money to get into my account.. heh The below price is with the student discount and rediculous 8.5% New York State sales tax.

POWER MAC G5 1.8GHZ CTO
On or before 09/02/2003
$2,129.00
1.8GHz PowerPC G5
512MB DDR400 (PC3200) - 2x256
160GB Serial ATA - 7200rpm
Combo (CD-RW/DVD-ROM)
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro
SubTotal:
$2,129.00
Estimated Tax:
$186.28
Estimated Total:
$2,315.28

Anyone willing to guess how much a G4 MDD with a combo drive, 1.25GB of memory, 120GB Western Digital SE, 60GB IBM Deskstar and 40GB Deskstar will go for in August?

I see on or before 09/02/2003

I ordered mine at the Orlando Apple Store.

According the Apple's website, the Open Estimated Ship date is 9/2/2003.

Now if I could just sell my DP 450. It was sold. The woman who was supposed to have bought it was going to give her iMac to her father-in-law, and make the Power Mac her computer. Then believe it or not -- her father-in-law died Sunday night.

Just my luck!

True story -- if you don't believe me, I'll take you behind the Apple Store and whoop your ass. :-)

I just cancelled my order till my finances are a a little secure. My car may be needing some major work in the near future. I think it might be best for me to hold out for the duals also. Trying like crazy to make more money though.
