In the past it's been possible to download the keynote to hard drive by downloading the entire movie rather than watch it stream.

(I want to burn it to CD and send it to someone who doesn't have cable.)

The following link is where the stream is on Akamai's servers:

rtsp://a1517.v14244.c1424.g.vq.akamaistream.net/5/1517/1424/3ef77ebf_1/1a1a1afe63d20071e55b89ea5aca369bc92c9b0837aa0f72e7 59beed57cc3a69e057bb1e7dafdf0f42/wwdc_250.mov

In the past, to download this movie a link like the following would have worked, but it doesn't. Surely it's in Apple's interest to get the keynote (along with its massive dose of RDF!) seen as widely as possible.

http://stream.qtv.apple.com/events/j...c/wwdc_250.mov

Anyone got any clues?

My mistake.

(I rarely go in the lounge, and since half the keynote was about the G5 (and what I actually want a copy of the video for) I thought here would do.)

No one anywhere seems to know this, it seems Apple/Akamai have yanked the http:// download possibility.

I guess it'll have to be a brute force method then: output the full-screen movie to video then capture and encode.

Maybe as a DivX... just to piss 'em off.

This has already been discussed in the Lounge
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in one
pretty and well preserved piece, but to skid across the line broadside,
thoroughly used up, worn out, leaking oil, shouting GERONIMO!"
