My iMac DV SE has a problem with its monitor. It's always tinted green. I'm about 99% sure it's just because of an internal cable that's a little too loose, but I don't know how to actually get in there to tighten it.
Does anyone know of a place that has step by step instructions for opening up an iMac like that?
Thanks

The cable is actually screwed down, so I don't imagine it would get loose.
The color balance was actually adjusted in software, using a tool that Apple techs have. They remove a ground wire and place it on another post, correct the balance and then replace the ground back in it's normal place.
If you really think the cable is loose, you're in for an adventure to get it apart.
My step by step is at home, and I'm away on vacation. If you haven't got it by next week, I'll tell you what you need to do when I get back.

I brought it down to my local apple store and they told me that the actual video board was probably fried. Because I know it's not a software color correction issue, and it's apparently not a loose cable issue just because it flickers back and forth when it's sitting still.
I'm gonna trust the guys at the Apple store that I can't fix it by myself.

The analog board is actually integrated into the power supply. The video board portion of the analog video combo is on the neck of the CRT.
Highly odd that it would fry and still power up and display. Sure, it was the most failure prone part of the iMac, but odd that yours half-works.

I have the same model iMac -- a salvage project, really. Bought it from my kid sister to help underwrite her iBook purchase. Anyway, I had to replace the HD and twice when I started it up, the screen was tinted green. Problem has not recurred, however.
My problem now is that somehow I tweaked the audio. Doesn't come out of the front speakers at the proper volume. D'oh! I use a line out, anyway.

The PAV was what Apple would replace? Possible (I would run the diplay adjuster first to check), but I have found solid shifts in color to usually be the CRT itself. Did they boot it off a CD and run an adjustment utility? If not, I would hesitate befor putting parts into the unit until you know what part needs replacing.
And be careful if you order a part from preowned.com. The last two power boards I received from them blew up (literally - a capacitor exploded in the machine I was working on)!

Victor, it's the same problem I had with mine a few years back.
The video board is dying. You need to get it replaced. Is it still under Apple Care by any chance?
