I am running OS 9.1 on a 333 iMac. On Monday I inserted a disk of JPEGs that was burned on a PC. I had burned the disk so that it would work on a Mac. When I inserted it into the Mac, the machine said it was unreadable. If I put it in a second time, it would not even mount. When I then put a Mac burned CD in after this, it would not mount either. A Mac application CD would not mount unless I restarted.

I went to Apple's site and found an article that dealt with this. I had all the extensions I was supposed to have to read the CD from the PC. I restarted with extensions off, to check for conflicts, and the PC disk still would not mount. I finally reintalled 9.1. The machine then read the PC disk fine.

Tonight I put the PC CD in again and got the unreadable message again. Help! I can't reinstall 9.1 every time I want to look at this CD.

Thanks

I had the disks mixed up - one was made to be Mac readable and the other was not. I tried to delete this thread but could not get the deletion to work. Sorry.
