I get home today and try to power up my computer. I hit the power button, the button glows. When I release it, the glow fades, and nothing happens. Fans don't spin, power supply doen't come on, nothing.

Any ideas? I am thinking it may be the battery, but I won't get a chance to replace it until late tomorrow. Thanks

Just tried to update the power supply, and I am in the same boat...
Pretty sure I followed the instructions to the letter.
Any ideas what it means ?

Nothing powers up - no fan & hard-drive noise...
Thanks for any help.

OK,

reading through the threads , I came accross something called the PMU (Power Managment Unit thingy).

On my PM MDD dual 867, it sits next to one of the ATA connectors on the motherboard. I simply pressed the reset button there, and it now powers up. Got to reconnect everything now...
Will let you know how it goes.

All works well now !
Got scared for a while. Stupid PMU button.

What does it do anyways ?
Why did I need to press it, even though they don't mention it anywhere on the power supply/fan update manual ?

Thanks for any info regarding this.
