I have two computers I am going to be able to possibly swap hardware from. Long story short, motherboard was fried on one and the other no one wants.

I have a 466 G4

Would I be able to put a sony ATA CD-RW/DVD combo drive into my mac that came from a PC, and would it be able to play DVD video/write disks?

Would I be able to put a GeForce 4 MX into my G4 (from a fairly new G4)? Would it make Quartz Xtream any faster then using it with a GeForce 2 MX? I'm not a big gamer, I'm just looking for a speed increase since I only have a 466 chip. I basically want to know if there will be one.

Thanks a lot.

The CD drive will read, but not necessarily write. You may need to get third party software to burn (Toast, DragonBurn, etc).

The graphics card should work, and will provide a nice boost in speed.

RAM tends to be more important than processor, so maxing the RAM will provide a nice boost for a third project on this.

Hope this helps, and good luck!
