My iMac (slot-loading G3 450mhz) keep turning off, on its own!

Sometime's the screen changes shape before and flickers alittle then shuts down. Now the screen is ever so slightly narrow.

Someone told me that it might be the internal battery which i have found just dunno about getting one and fitting?(am in the UK)

Is it difficult? thanks for any help guys

Sounds like the video analog board is dying. Not an easy or cheap repair.
