I haven't felt this way since I was kid at Christmas or something... The wait until September for my Dualie is going to be hell!
Even though it is a great machine, I am sick of writing stuff on my G3 466 iBook (800x600 res )...
Anyone else have the 'must have' G5 feeling yet?

I've got a 1.8 on the way (Couldnt afford the Dual) and it's killing my inside.
To make matters worse, in order to afford the 1.8 I had to sell my dual 1.25 to my brother and the deal is, he gets the dual 1.25 at the begening of august.... So if apple holds true to the on or before august 28th, I'm without a mac for a month

Honestly, porn looks the same on 466MHz as on 4GHz.

Believe it or not, some of us don't use our computer to look at porn...
I'm with ya, The Placid Casual. I sold my 867 G4 to finance my dual G5, and am doing all my audio production (Pro Tools, Reason) on a B/W G3 450. I'm hurtin' big time. To think that it could be another two months...i mean, let's be honest: there's a decent chance that the dual's won't ship until mid to late September or even later.
Waiting sucks.

I sold my TiBook 500 a few months ago and have ordered a dual 2GHz + 23" cinema display.
I am currently suffering on an "oh well" (dell) Latitude from work. It crashes every time I use Cisco VPN or look at from the wrong angle. It's two days old
BRING ON THE DUAL G5!!!!!!

He just posts that in every thread. Posting from his own perspective I guess.
Now Expose is going to do wonders for porn...
Anyways, if I get a G5 I'll wait for rev. B. Don't really need one at the moment.

I can't wait. I keep calling the reseller I'm purchasing it from to see if my ship date has changed. I think he's getting annoyed.
And I think my beige knows it's being replaced. It's been acting up ever since I ordered the dual. So the sooner it comes, the better.

Back to the topic, I feel your pain. It's like the Mac community is stuck in the Sargasso Sea until the units start shipping and we have something substantive to get worked up about again!
The lead up to the WWDC was such a frenzy of speculation and anticipation, culminating in a "there's-blood-in-the-water" orgy of conjecture about the leaked specs on the Apple Store site. Now that was *drama*.
The weeks since the announcements have seemed muted and pale by comparison. I know you guys don't cop to looking at porn online, but if dwelling on specs, videos and photos of the new machines isn't porn... well...
And many of us, after waiting a long time to see if the new machines would be announced at WWDC... trying to figure out when and whether to update our gear, now find ourselves with orders placed, but working on our tired old systems, ho-humming away the days until we can actually have that sublime out-of-box experience.
So, we got really excited about Panther - which isn't here yet (at least *I'm* not installing it on my production system) and we got really excited about the G5s - which aren't here yet... and I believe I have a glimpse of what post-partum depression must feel like.

Hate to admit it, but I'm counting the days. I've been a PC user for what seems like forever now (since 1986), although my first programming experience was on Apple IIs in high school. Before I met her, my wife worked for Apple; I bought her a G4 a few years ago. OS X is what really tipped the scale for me; it will handle both my professional work (mostly Java development) and my personal/hobby work (image and video editing). So, I'm anxiously waiting for delivery of my dual G5, scheduled for August 29th. I really hope Apple sells a lot of G5s and gains back some market share.
Oh, the other reason I switched is because I absolutely detest Ann Coulter, and I understand that liberals like Macintoshes.
