Hi,
I think it`s time for a new hard drive (again) and while I`m at it I`ll change the battery and I have read that there is a "rest-button" that you should push.
I have no idea would or where it is and rather than "guess" I`m asking for help !! So thanks
My Mac is an iMac DV400.
Also is it true that an "EIDE 133" is an ATA and is it true that they are backwards compatable?
Thanks again !!

the drives are compatible.

The PMU button is down and to the left, between the memory slots and the ports. Press it once for ten seconds, don't repeatedly press it.

Thank you for your help !
Just one thing , should I do this after I`m finished installing the new HD and battery?
Thanks and have a great day

Yes. get everything in place, press the switch once, and then reassemble the covers.

Thank you for the good day.
