I'm going to be moving my SCSI drive over to my 733 g4 this weekend.
I've had no problems with doing that sort of thing. A hard drive is a hard drive is a hard drive, after all.

I did, admittedly, have problems installing a new ATA hard drive into my g3 a few years ago. For some bizarre reason, I put the hd's of three different companies in, and none of them would mount. However, a year later I did the same thing and it worked fine.
Now I know, and knowing is half the battle!

Physically.....yes
mechanically......yes
interface.....NO

Assumming that the poster's drive is a standard ATA unit, then there will be no problems whatsoever in moving it to a G4.

scsi OTOH, may present some problems, especially with OS X, as scsi support has been steadily declining as each new version comes out.....But with an Adaptec scsi controller, it should be ok, since Apple includes drivers within the OS for several of their cards.....

If it's just an ATA hard drive, it'll work fine, providing you set the jumpers accordingly.

Should be fine. I recently took the HD our of a Sawtooth G4 and put it in a B&W G3. It boots and works great.
