I have tried booting my PowerMac from a variety of Mac OS X CD-ROMs. (DiskWarrior 3, TechTool Deluxe, Mac OS X 10.2 Install) The PowerMac seemingly will not boot from any of these disks. After the grey Apple boot screen disappears, the monitor goes black. The "Aqua" boot screen does not appear and the System seems unresponsive.
However, I can boot the PowerMac from a variety of Mac OS 9 CD-ROMs. (DiskWarrior 2.0, Mac OS 9.1/9.2 Install CDs, Retrospect Express 5.0) The PowerMac functions normally booted into these systems.
Anyone else having this difficulty?
