I am looking to get rid of my G3 and so I need to get a SCSI card for the Dual 533. With that in mind it needs to work with 10.2 and above. The scanner is a Agfa Duoscan and still works quite well and I am not in the mood to purchase a new scanner of that quality. The only other scanner that I would look at is the Nikon 8000.

Well back to the subject - a SCSI card for the scanner that works with 10.2

-----

Does anyone have any info on this SCSI card from ATTOTECH, AttoTech ExpressPCI PSC. I have heard that the Adaptec card is not compatable with 10.2.6 and I would not be downgrading the dual 533 to put this card in to use the Agfa Duoscan. To replace the scanner is too much $$$ at this time (Nikon Super Coolscan 8000 ED - $2,600).

Thanks for any help,
West

I am using an Adaptec 29160N PCI SCSI card and it works flawlessly in 10.2.6. I don't know who told you Adaptec cards don't work, they lied!

I had an Adaptec 2930 SCSI PCI card in my Sawtooth G4/450 and it worked perfectly from 10.0 up to and including 10.2.6. I used it with a SCSI CD burner all the time.

The one that they said they were using was the 2906 scsi card and they said that using a scanner that they did not have color and the scanner was a Agfa, with which Agfa say that do not support it any more. The unfortunit thing about this is that the scanner was a good unit and the problem was a software issue.

I will be using this with a Agfa Duoscan.
