I am thinking seriously about getting a 1.6GHz G5 machine, as it's the only model I can afford at present.

I'm also wondering if I should ride the fence a bit longer and wait for rev. B. Tough decisions, what with my severe case of tech envy.

Here's what I'm wondering: What are the upgrade options for the 1.6GHz G5 Power Mac?

I already know I can: Add more memory; slap various PCI cards in; add a second drive; swap out the present drives and video card (say I got the combo drive model now, and upgraded to Superdrive down the road...don't need superdrive now).

Here's the kicker: The extant Power Mac G4 models allow for Processor upgrades (if a faster processor is available). If the G4 is an SP, you can add another processor for DP. Are such upgrade paths possible for the SP G5 models? From what I understand, the G5 CAN run at bus ratios other than 2:1. And the G5 cases are all the same, despite the innards. Can one swap a faster processor down the road? Slap in a second and make it a dualie? I can't see why this shouldn't be possible, but I can find absolutely no info. on whether or not this WILL be possible.

If NOT, I'll likely wait for rev. B and more price drops, to pick up a DP machine.
