I am trying to run my Power Mac G4 Cube on my Sony 36XBR400. I connected the Cube's VGA output (via the stock ATI Rage 128 AGP 2x card) to my Audio Authority 9A60 VGA-to-Component converter which then goes to my XBR. I boot it up and the OS X gray start up screen comes on the tv perfectly. "Wonderful" I think, "it's just working all by itself!" Then the sign-on screen comes on and the tv's pictures becomes distorted like crazy and seems to be displaying only in the tv's anamorphic squeeze letterbox section. On a fluke I turned on the tv's picture-in-picture setting and "ta-da" the desktop appeared clear as day but with the top and bottom small sections cut off and the sides cut off. so, I opened up the system preferences and changed the resolution to 640x480 at 60mhz (is that what a normal tv displays at?). it looked to work just fine, it displayed ok not just in the picture-in-picture but even more of the desktop was cut off and the fonts and items were huge. I tried to change the resolution to 800x600 but it went all crazy. Is it possible to run this on my tv and if so, what's the best way to do so? 640x480 looks to work it appears, but I have no screen real estate to work with, and for some reason things are all cut off. why is that? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
