This is the place to post if you are mad because people will be walking out of Apple Stores as early perhaps as today with their new G5's, while you are still left waiting for a truck to deliver the G5 you ordered during the keynote.
Of course, the thread will be locked faster than Sally Struthers can down a can of Pringles but it was fun while it lasted.

Right, meant to be kind of a spoof really. Most of us know that's how it works now, but you always get some folks miffed about it.
My advice to people that want a new product fast, is to play the Apple Store game if you have one in your area. Get on the lists, call constantly, pretty much harrass them until you get the answer you want to hear, "Yes, we just got X this morning, and we have X left."
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't most new shipments arrive on Monday or Tuesday? Good days to call and check...

Face it. The Apple Stores had them on order first, before you.

At least a g5 is a g5 is a g5. With ticketmaster they screw early buyers and hold good tickets until right before the show. One reason why I never go to concerts anymore, except at the last minute.

They have to. It's the law. Online vendors who are NOT in your state can charge no tax because it's technically your responsibility to pay that tax. No one ever does though, but if you ever get audited, have some new pants ready.

Don't need to. You'll be issued a set of pants by the warden.

Never mind the pants, remember to never bend over to pick up the soap! A G5 isn't going to be any use in that situation.

lol, true. Apple technically doesn't need to charge tax iif they don't have a physical presence in your state, and I don't know if they do or not.
Also, the latest odds of anyone making 50-150K to be audited in their life time are 1 in 220.

It's pretty safe to say that Apple has a physical presence in all 50 states. They may not have a retail store in all 50, but any presence is sufficient (and Apple has reps in every state to deal with the BestBuy, CompUSA, MicroCenter, and other Apple-selling stores in those states).

Show me a person that is in jail for not paying sales tax on an out of state purchase. That's not even a federal tax issue, it's a state matter.

Bullshit. What happens is that tickets are held for some people that get first crack at them (don't know who these people are, probably brokers). If they aren't sold, they release them the night of the show. But if the people decide not to buy them before that, they release them then. I've gotten awesome seats the day of a show because of it, but I've also scored some great tickets the day they go on sale and even long after the show was deemed "sold out." Ticketmaster sucks, but it's all luck of the draw.
