I have a Dual 1.42GHz w/ 1GB of RAM, and would like to add more. The question is, which do I add?

*Between the 512MB Sticks.

These technical terms slightly confuse me, and I'm hoping someone can shed some light.

Thanks!

http://www.ramjet.com/

Click on the yellow tab representing the model you have and they will explain it... good prices too.

This looks like the Crucial.com site. I have bought there a few times and found them to be a great company, with great service. I have the 1.25 single and will be ordering this week the 512 on the left. Both our CPU's take the DDR 2700 Ram and actually this is the best price for quality Ram that I can find even over RamJet or others. They ship 2nd day by default and it is free. The prices have been stable for the last month or so. Buy 2!

You need the "2700" RAM. Get it from www.coastmemory.com; best prices & guarenteed to work in your Mac. I got my 12" PB RAM from there and it works flawlessly.

Both the PC2700 and PC3200 will work in the G4 (and 1.6GHz G5) but if you later upgrade to a 1.8 or 2GHz G5, you need the PC3200.

In other words, the PC3200 gives you a better chance of being portable to a newer machine in the future.
