What would you do with the box your G5 came in?

I'll probably keep it, like the rest of my boxes. Always handy when something goes wrong and i need to return it or something.

Always keep your boxes in A1 condition!
If a few years down the line you want to sell, and a prospective buyer sees a pristine box complete with original packaging etc they will pay top money.
By association they will think you have looked after the machine the same way.
Look upon box hoarding as 'protecting your investment'...

I'll be keeping it so that I can not only sell the G5 with box in a few years, but also so i can show off this damn cool box to anyone who comes into my room.

A good idea is to carefully score the tape seal and fold the box flat. Put in a large plastic bag if you can to avoid marring the box (any more then it was already). Even more important, use the computer!

This doesn't save any space, What do you do with the polystyrene bits that are as large as the box.
I always keep the boxes for stuff, Makes shipping easer if I chose to e-Bay it.
My G4 box has to double up as a makeshift table, it's to large to go in the loft, and the top of the wardrobe it taken up wit the displays box.

If you sell it now, I bet you could easily get $25 for it.

Ooo! How exciting! I SO wish I lived in Atlanta so I could visit and see your astounding collection of Apple cardboard boxes.

I'll third that motion. It helped when I sold my G3 Power Mac and when I sold my iBook also . It also helps when you move around a lot.

It'd join the box for my powermac in the loft.
I had to flatten the box and unfold it again in the loft, placing the polystyrene back inside.
If Apple shipped macs wrapped in bubble wrap in a standard cardboard box (like that last two new PCs I saw were, then they'd go in the bin. But Apple spend money on the packaging. Money we give them, would you just throw out anything else you paid for? Keep the boxes.

Wow. Y'know what, I have no doubt that you're serious about that question either. If only I could believe you were being a smartass.
