Wow, my 1.8 GHZ G5 shipped WAY early! My estimated date was 9/9/03. Here is what I ordered (standard 1.8 machine):

I'm keeping my fingers, and a few other things, crossed. I ordered my Dualie on 6/24 with a ship date of 8/29. I checked my Apple loan account today and noticed that they have pre-charged the amount. Hopefully this means it will ship Thursday or Friday!

not to burst your bubble GeekyJeff but I also ordered a G5 2.0 GHz DP the day of the keynote and, so far, Apple has pre-charged my account 3 times over the course of the time I've been waiting.

What Apple actually does with orders that take such a long time to ship (like the G5), is pre-charge the money every few weeks (is it a month?) to make sure the order is still "active", so to speak. So, it may or may not mean that they are ready to ship it... though I do hope they do.

I'd say that until the money is actually withdrawn from your account, there is no real assurance that the machine will be shipping soon.
