The 61** is still a good machine for writing and emailing, but for serious graphics, resolutions, speed, Internet and so on i would say it´s definetely outdated (And i say this as a 6100 Powermac user, who´s machine is still running (as a backup and file server)).

If you want to get in touch with the Mac world, get a cheap G3 or even an early G4 tower.

The 6116 has a 60MHz PowerPC 601. This was the slowest PowerPC that was ever sold by Apple.

The processor is about equivalent to a 75MHz Pentium (original).

I have it. It was fun in 1995. Don't take it now! Trust me! It was slow back then!

Slow slow slow slow. You would not like it.

If you want a cheap Mac, get an eMac, any model, and max the RAM.

I'll take the 6116CD and put it with my 7300 for my Mac museum.

Yeah... I have one. Extremely slow... mine just sits and gets dusty.

I suffered 4 years at work with a 6100 and disliked it all the way. It was slow from the start and did not improve with age. Stay away form that crap unless you like to tinker with 486 PCs and the like

I'm another that had the exact same model. If it is being GIVEN to you, Ok. But dont pay a nickel. If fact, if you buy a keyboard specifically for the computer, you are spending too much.

Also, my harddrive started to misfunction and finally went out. You have no way of knowing the condition of the computer w/out monitor nor keyboard.

If its a gift and you want a word processor, then its acceptable.
