I have the chance to buy an iMac DV motherboard for cheap, what do i need to make this into a working machine? Say i could shoehorn it all into an old 7200 chasis or something.... Power supply? Harddrive? Could I hook it up to an external monitor somehow?

Or.... What if i bought an original bondi blue iMac, will the monitor and power supply from that work??? could i simply swap the motherboards out (i'd probably just toss the bondi blue one), and remove the port panel on the case so the FW ports could poke through (doesn't have to look pretty, just work.)

Give me all the info you can, what does it take to make an iMac DV motherboard into a nice little server.

thanks,

The bondi blue is actually much easier to make work.

I have an adapter I make that converts an ATX power supply for use with the iMac bondi. I don't have one yet for the iMac DV.

Connecting a regular svga monitor to a bondi is easy. It isn't so easy for an iMac DV unless the DV has a vga port on the back.
